After more than a year of not wearing makeup or lipstick and only doing the bare minimum with sunscreen, I’ve found my love for makeup and beauty products all over again.
4 Beauty Products I’m Loving
e.l.f Cosmetics Makeup Remover
This is by far the best makeup remover I’ve ever tried and I’ve tried my fair share of products. It has made a world of difference in my routine and it’s only $10!
When you use a makeup removing balm or oil, you apply it to dry skin first, then you add water to lather it up, then you rinse with water and finish off with your cleanser for a double cleanse. When I’ve used other products, I would still have a little bit of makeup on my face which would then stain my towel. But, with this makeup remover, it literally takes every last bit of makeup off and my towel is clean when I dry off. Plus, it really rings true to its name and hydrates your skin. My skin always feels and looks amazing after using this.
fresh Lip Balm
I love lipstick. I genuinely feel more confident and more like myself when I’m wearing lipstick, especially a bright red lip.
But, between the masks, being indoors more and just not doing my full face of makeup anymore, I haven’t been reaching for my lipsticks as often. I still want a little bit of color though, which is why I fell in love with the fresh tinted lip balms all over again. I used to love this product years ago and then just stopped reaching for it, but now it’s my daily go-to.
There are a ton of color options, they’re super smooth and hydrating and I love that it gives you a natural touch of color. It’s perfect for those makeup-less days out or if you want to look a little nicer on a video call.
La Mer Cushion Foundation
Yes. You read that right. I caved and purchased the La Mer $125 foundation. I did it. But, let me plead my case!
I’ve been wearing makeup a little more often lately and although I have a few go-to foundations in my beauty drawer, I swear nothing looks good on me anymore. I feel like the product is just sitting on top of my skin and just looks really heavy and cakey. Not to mention, since I’ve been indoors so much, my skin is lighter now, which makes my makeup darker, which means my face and my neck/body are two different colors!
So in conclusion, I NEEDED this new foundation….lol. But, seriously, I’ve heard so many good things about this and that it was natural coverage which was what I wanted. My mom and I took a shopping trip to Saks so I could get color matched and I fell in love with it even more. My skin looked so luminous and natural and a little product goes a long way. For $125, you get the mirror compact with the cushion foundation and an additional cushion refill.
La Mer Translucent Powder
I bought the foundation so I HAD to buy the powder. I did. I HAD to buy. I don’t make the rules.
The powder is $100 but it has so much product and the packaging is pretty heavy that even the associate said it would last for years. It feels really light on the skin and is really luminous. It obviously pairs well with the foundation and I’ve just been loving my makeup routine again.
