Guess who is gonna be a gingham gal for the Fourth?! This girl! The Fourth of July is surprisingly my second favorite holiday after Thanksgiving. I love that it’s smack dab in the middle of the summer and everyone pulls out their best Americana look. In case you’re new here… I’m a sucker for a little red, white and blue!
Who forgets a blog anniversary?
Me. The answer is me. Honestly, how embarrassing am I? When my blog turned one, my mom and I went to Drybar to get our hair done and do a fun post, but the last two blog anniversary’s I have completely forgotten about. Ugh. But, honestly in true Live Laugh Linda fashion, are you really surprised? But, yes Live Laugh Linda turned 3 years old yesterday! I actually remembered because I randomly went on Facebook and a memory popped up from my first ever blog post. I immediately said oh s**t…. and then, like any typical 24 year old, glanced over nervously at my mom to see if I was about to get yelled at.
I’ve had a bunch of ups and downs with this little site. And I honestly have thought about quitting a handful of times, especially recently. But, the more and more I think about it, I just can’t imagine life without this platform. I started this blog so that I could have an outlet that was all mine and something I could control. And three years later, it is still that: A platform that is truly my escape where I can write what I want, get creative and share outfit posts. So cheers to three years and thank you for coming along for the ride.
Let’s Talk Outfit Details
I’ve been blogging for 3 years now and nothing stumps me more than a blog title. I feel like I’ve used them all and sometimes have to check back to make sure I haven’t used something already. So, as I was trying to figure out what to call this post, I did a quick gingham search on Pinterest. And let me tell you what I found out. I actually really love gingham! I found myself looking at all these different items and posts and being like “wait, where is that from?” or “what, I really need that!”. Every time the summer rolls around and I find a new gingham piece to obsess over, I always wonder why I don’t wear the print more. But, honestly it just screams summer to me and is especially so perfect for the Fourth of July.
Anyways, as I walking through the mall, I happened to glance into Zara and locked eyes on this dress. Like a curious toddler, I took off and ran right into the store. To be honest, I’m not the biggest Zara fan, which I think is weird since EVERYONE seems to love Zara. But, in my opinion, they’re a bit overpriced, their staff is a bit rude and the quality just isn’t there. I have a handful of items from them that I love, but each one has a problem.
But, I honestly fell in love with this dress when I tried it on that I couldn’t walk away from it. I love the bell sleeves, the tiered silhouette and the fact that this is so loose and flowy. It’s so comfortable and easy to throw on and I get a ton of compliments when I wear it. It’s currently on sale online and comes in blue, but I linked an identical one that is cheaper. And don’t you la la love today’s special guest? My little Kenny!!
