And just like that, our beloved snow day has come and gone. What was supposed to be the biggest storm of 2017 was a bit of a let down, which they usually are, but the day off was much appreciated. I made the most out of it and actually accomplished a lot. I was able to read a ton of China Rich Girlfriend (which I can’t put down, it’s so good!), I worked on the blog, I edited a new YouTube video (woohoo!) which you can watch below and although I didn’t binge watch all the High School Music movies, I had a Cheetah Girl marathon. So you could say, I had the best day ever.
Today I wanted to do a huge Instagram roundup, specifically of my Vietnam travel photos. Although there is snow on the ground in NYC, my mind has already moved onto spring, plus all of the new spring things are starting to hit stores! And to keep up with todays theme of shopping, my newest video is a haul where I’m sharing every last thing I bought for my trip!
Taken at JFK, while we were awaiting to board our flight. In planning my trip, I was most excited for my carryon. I love how classic it looks and it’s a great dupe for more expensive brands, but at a fraction of the price.
Hot mess express. Taken after our 13 hour flight from JFK to Japan. I quickly slapped some makeup on before we boarded our flight to Vietnam. I was pretty happy I chose the traveling outfit that I did because although I was exhausted and restless, I was at least comfortable. These joggers are so soft, plus I sized up in the tee for more of an oversized look. Also obsessed with my new denim jacket. I have a smaller, more fitted one, but I’ve been on the hunt for a more oversized option. I also added a ton of pins for a fun detail, plus I’ve been loving collecting pins lately!
Our first day in Vietnam! Photo taken after a much needed shower and refresh and of course a big bowl of pho (a Vietnamese noodle soup that is the most amazing thing on this planet). One of my favorite dresses from the trip so naturally it was the first thing I pulled out to wear.
You guys have no idea how happy I was to wear something off the shoulder again. I swear it was all I wore last summer and to be able to wear it in January made me so incredibly happy. Plus the main form of transportation is by moped and oh my god, I can’t even begin to tell you how much I loved it. One afternoon I asked my mom to ask my cousins (hello language barrier) if we could get on the moped and just ride around and as simple as it was, it was so much fun.
My dress for the Lunar New Year! If you read the full post, I talk about my struggle with finding the right dress and how I almost didn’t get a dress in time! Being able to spend such an important holiday in Vietnam with my family was everything I could have wanted, I still get emotional just thinking about it. Check out my cousin (yes yes yes to the coordinating reds) and half of my family behind me!
One of my favorite detail shots my mom took in Vietnam (thanks Mom!). You need this striped shirt in your life. It’s so flattering and was so comfy since it’s not fitted and has a swing like silhouette. Plus I’m still obsessing over my basket bag. Held all of my essentials perfectly, including my camera, phone and selfie stick!
Another look at my favorite off the shoulder top from my trip. How fun are the flutter sleeves?!
A whole pom pom situation! This was an impulse buy because the price was too good to pass up, but how fun is this dress?! I love the detail on the hem and on the one shoulder. I was obsessed with this colorful backdrop. Can you believe this wall was literally right outside our front door?! Every morning I would wake up and look outside and see the sun shining on this colorful wall and it made me so incredibly happy. I was seriously so emotional during this whole trip!
You guys know how much I love a touch of red! Plus how amazing do these earrings look with everything?! I purchased the white and red for my trip and pretty much wore them the whole time.
There are so many cafes in Vietnam! In New York, we joke that there are Starbucks on every corner, but in Vietnam there are cafes on every block and next door to each other. Every morning, my cousins and uncles would go to the cafe to drink coffee and start their morning. This one was one of my favorites. It was right by the river and we drank cold coconut water straight from the coconut. Plus I was obsessed with this little arch/ hidden fort situation. I swear I could sit here all day long.
Another day, another coconut. We visited some family members in the country side and were invited in for some tea and coconut water (yes please, don’t have to ask me twice) and when we left we were gifted a whole bunch of coconuts. Honestly, it was truly the way to my heart.
Am I the only person that has a photo bucket list?! Well, when we were planning our trip, I knew I wanted to take a picture by the rice field and at least visit one. My mom always talks about the rice field and how they make pick and make rice so I really wanted to see it for myself. Honestly, look how beautiful it is.
And speaking of bucket lists, this was not only on my photo bucket list, but my life bucket list. Guys, I was literally screaming on the inside and outside I was so happy. My family rented one of the tour boats and we visited the floating market. Our boat pulled up next to this pineapple boat and I climbed on board. First off, it smelled amazing. Secondly, how beautiful are they!! Seriously, my life was made being able to hop on and take some pics. Plus I wore my pineapple shirt of course.
