Yes. I purchased the Instagram famous bag. The Influencer bag. The “trendy” Louis Vuitton bag.
Louis Vuitton Multi Pochette Accessoires Review
I first saw this bag on YouTube when a creator shared her unboxing. I had never seen the bag before and I was so confused why there were different parts to it and why she had to assemble it. I don’t know when I stopped hating / being confused by it and started loving it, but I really made a full 360. I think it was because of how often I saw it on social media, which yes, can get annoying, but it showed me the true versatility of the bag.
Like a lot of Louis Vuitton items, especially canvas items, it’s hard to get your hands on these days. So when I purchased this, I purchased it blind. I had never tried it on before. Never even saw it in stores. I just purchased it because my aunt’s SA was able to snag one.
For me personally, it checked all of the boxes. Designer handbag? Check. I’ve been a handbag / designer handbag lover as long as I can remember. Crossbody bag? Check. I have some really great crossbody bags in my collection, but I didn’t have an everyday designer crossbody bag. Small handbag? Check. It’s a running joke with my family how much I love a small bag. The less you can fit in a bag, the more it’s for me.
Although I had never tried it on before, the minute I received my bag and unboxed it. I instantly fell in love.
What does it fit?
Whenever I purchase anything, especially a designer item, I always think of how practical it is in my day-to-day life. While it’s not the most spacious bag, it still fits my needs. We’re not throwing money around over here! So it has to be practical!
I will also preface this by saying, I do have a Samorga insert in all of the components to help protect the lining and help the bag maintain its shape.
The smaller Pochette in front, perfectly fits my iPhone 11 Pro max. I don’t put anything else in that bag since I don’t want to stuff it, but you can probably fit another flat item in there as well.
The larger Pochette fits the two SLG’s that I always carry with me, the Louis Vuitton key pouch and a J.Crew card holder. I don’t really use a wallet so my J.Crew card holder has all of my essentials: credit cards, ID, metro card and my key pouch holds loyalty cards and cash. I can also fit a pack of tissues, my AirPods and my keys. That’s what I personally carry because I don’t want to overstuff the bag, but those are really my essentials.
As for the round pouch, I mostly put mints in there for easy access. I always carry around mints with me to help with my anxiety. But, the pouch also comfortably fits my AirPods.
Cost & Different Styles
Currently, the Louis Vuitton Multi Pochette Accessoires retails for $2,050 before tax. The specific style comes in a light pink strap or the khaki strap which is the one I have. I personally chose the khaki because green is one of my favorite colors and I felt like it was more versatile for my wardrobe. You can also purchase the strap alone in the khaki, light pink and black for $930 before tax.
As for different styles, they had a seasonal summer print for $2,240 before tax. I’m unsure if they are going to continue coming out with seasonal color ways. There are also leather versions with a thinner strap, no round pouch and a gold and leather entwined chain that retails between $2,230 – $2,490 before tax. And there is another leather version called the “new-wave multi Pochette” that features one main pouch with a large gold Louis Vuitton logo, the round pouch, a chain and the thicker strap. Lastly, I noticed they just released the World Tour version of the Multi Pochette, more on that in a minute.
It looks like Louis Vuitton is trying to come out with updated versions of this popular bag, but for me personally, I like the original style. But, I think the leather version is really pretty if you want something more subtle and toned down.
Louis Vuitton has updated their packaging for this bag since it was released. It no longer comes in individual dust bags. Now, the two pouches and the round pouch come in one dust bag. Although, my round pouch came in its own dust bag. The strap and the chain come in their own individual plastic bag. And all components come in one box.
The chain gets attached to the smaller pouch. The small pouch then gets attached to the larger pouch. The round pouch attaches to the strap. Then the strap attaches via the larger pouch.
What I Like
The first thing I love about this bag is that the straps are adjustable. You don’t find this often with handbags, especially designer handbags and especially with Louis Vuitton. I’m petite at 4’11 so a crossbody bag that doesn’t adjust hits me way too low. Plus, I prefer my handbags to hit me higher, specifically a little above my hip.
I’ve also become obsessed with belt bags the last few years, specifically when they are worn across the chest. It sounds weird, but this gives me a belt bag vibe with the thicker strap and the fact that its close to my body so I feel like all my essentials are within reach and it lays high up on my body. It’s also incredibly comfortable to wear. I feel like all of my items are secure and I’m fully hands free.
I’m also pleasantly surprised that it’s incredibly versatile and has gone with every outfit I’ve worn so far. I just love it so much and I think it adds the finishing touch to every outfit.
What I Don’t Like
To be totally honest, the only con for me is that I wish it was slightly bigger and fit a little more. Like I said, I love a small bag so I’m used to carrying the bare minimum. Besides, everything that doesn’t fit in my bag, my boyfriend ends up carrying lol. But, my sunglasses in their case does not fit and while my keys and a hand sanitizer does fit, I feel like I’m stuffing the bag and the zipper doesn’t lay street. I will say, I’m also overly cautious with my bags and take good care of them so I’m very protective. Depending on what you carry and your preferences, you can definitely carry more or less.
How To Style
I’ve rounded up a few photos of when I’ve worn this bag in this post to show how versatile it is. I can dress it up and down and it really goes with anything which is why it’s my go-to bag at the moment. I’ve worn it with dresses and with loungewear.
The only outfit I’ve worn so far that I felt like it didn’t go with was my Hill House dress because the dress is really feminine and I feel like the bag is more edgy with the thicker strap. So I took a gold chain to use with the two pouches instead and I really liked how it looked plus it proved its versatility. You can definitely use the chain that comes with it as well, but I wanted a thicker chain for more support.
I’ve also seen it styled with the chain and round pouch on its own for a small evening bag moment.
How To Purchase
As I mentioned, Louis Vuitton canvas items have been so hard to get your hands on. This bag is constantly sold out online. I was lucky to get my hands on one through my aunt’s SA.
I would recommend frequently checking the site because when they do restock, it goes quickly.
You can also try to talk to an SA at Louis Vuitton to build a relationship so they can notify you if the store gets one or if you have an SA, just reaching out to ask. When I spoke with an SA in New York, I was told only one or two come in at a time and when my aunt secured mine, it was the only one that was available.
But, like I mentioned before, Louis Vuitton released the World Tour version. Basically, this allows you to customize classic bags with different patches. They offer this customization for classic styles like the speedy, neverfull and travel bags. It retails for $2,450 before tax and is available online. You have to add at least one patch to check out, but you can add up to 6 patches in total, one on the round pouch, three on the smaller pouch and two on the larger pouch. This is definitely a great option if you want to get your hands on the bag and the patches are really cute! For me personally, I still prefer the no patches because I think it makes it more timeless and versatile.
Yay or Nay?
Okay, finally thoughts. Yay or Nay?
Although I wasn’t able to try on this bag beforehand, I put a lot of thought into whether this would be timeless in my wardrobe. I watched all the YouTube reviews, read all of the blog reviews, and looked at a ton of styling inspiration for this bag. I’ve heard some people say it’s trendy and won’t last and that it’s been overexposed so I put that into account too.
But, at the end of the day, I actually really love this bag and think it’s worth the money and the hype and for me it’s timeless. The Pochette is a classic Louis Vuitton style in a classic shape. So by adding two pochettes, a thicker strap and a round pouch, I think it gives the classic style an upgrade that is more modern and wearable day-to-day. You also can’t go wrong with a crossbody bag and the quality and details are really incredible.
So it’s absolutely a yay, 10/10 would recommend for me.
