It’s Wednesday! Who else is ready for the weekend to come already?!
I’m actually very surprised that I’ve featured so many black & white outfits on the blog. I’m not kidding when I say I used to have no black in my wardrobe. I used to be one of those girls who shopped at Abercrombie & Fitch, so my wardrobe was filled with navy. I was all about the navy or nothing look before it became cool. When I was a freshman in college, I needed black clothes to volunteer at fashion events and I of course freaked out and basically had to hit up the sale in the Macy’s junior department because I seriously had no black in my wardrobe! But, as I’ve matured I have really come to appreciate the black and white staples in my closet. They’re timeless, they’re classic and they’re very New York.
I’m obsessed with these types of dresses. Last year I saw a trapeze dress at Urban Outfitters that came in a million and one colors, I was hesitant to purchase it because I didn’t know if it would be flattering, but when I began seeing it everywhere, I regretted not purchasing it. This year, I did not wait and was able to snag a pink trapeze dress (that hopefully will be on the blog soon!) so you can imagine how happy I was when I saw a printed black and white one at Express. I’m in love with this dress, it’s so comfortable and fun and I love the way it moves in the wind. It’s also incredibly versatile and can be dressed up with heels and a bold lip, but dressed down with a denim jacket and flats.
Plus I think this dress goes perfectly with my backdrop. I always say I dress for whatever area that I am going to because I’m inspired by the style of the specific location and I definitely knew if I was gonna photograph this dress, it HAD to be at this gorgeous location in lower Manhattan!
