New York City Girl

Happy Wednesday!

If you live on the east coast…we survived the blizzard of the century! Which turned out to not really be the blizzard of the century…but, hey I’m not complaining about a day off and to be honest I actually found the fresh snow beautiful. Emphasis on the word “fresh” because I’m sure by now New York has gotten the best of the snow and now it’s all mushy, black and just miserable looking.

When I love something, I become incredibly passionate about it. For example, Banana Republic. I love Banana Republic and I’m incredibly passionate about the brand to the point where I wanted to cry walking into the store the other day because everything was so beautiful and I wanted it all. Dramatic? For sure, but I’m being serious.
The point is, I’m incredibly passionate and in love with my city. I was born in Manhattan and up until college educated in Manhattan so the New York attitude and the New York way was all I ever knew. Call me crazy, but leaving NYC for college was the best thing I’ve ever done. Leaving for four years really made me see the city in a whole new light and really made me appreciate where I’m from.
I smile every time I see a picture of NYC on Pinterest, I can’t help, but feel a sense of pride going to work every morning and being able to walk around the city, I’m a sucker for any piece of clothing or accessory with an NYC theme and yes I do in fact believe NYC is the greatest city in the world, that the world revolves around NYC and that we do in fact have the best bagels & pizzas. I love the classic NYC attitude and although we may have a stereotype of being rude and mean, I love that at the end of the day the people of this city really come together and rally with one another.
Ok, ok I’ll stop rambling because I can go on and on, but the moral of this story is I’m a New York City girl through and through and although I have a great appreciation for many other cities and want to travel, you’ll never convince me that my city isn’t the greatest city in the world.

Though I've only been to New York City once, (that needs to change soon) I know exactly the feeling you are describing. Everything felt magical there. From Times Square to China town. I never felt like anyone was rude, in fact people were more than nice. Tour guides were super educated and I learned so much. Even the locals were nice enough to point us in the direction of a few great eats. The thing I love most about New York is that I feel like I'm in a movie. Like I'm in a dream even. I think it's been mediated so much that a part of me feels like that place can't possibly be real. We had made plans to visit this summer but switched to Atlanta. Fingers crossed Summer 2016 leads us there.

I have never been to NYC (which is completely ridiculous at this point), but I can only imagine how it makes you feel. I have no doubt that the second I get there I am going to fall madly in love with every aspect of that beautiful place! On another note…completely adore this outfit. The jacket and hat are perfect!

I <3 NY too! Probably not as much as you do though 😉 Definitely over due for a visit. We have a place on the east side so I have NO EXCUSE for never going! AH! Hopefully this spring.
    That t-shirt is adorable!

Your style is definitely New York chic! I love your city as well. We are really contemplating on moving either to New York or to LA for a few years and just live our life. I've always been a West Coast kinda girl but my previous trips to New York last summer really changed my perspective on the East Coast.

Ahh girl!! I love this! You definitely need to visit NYC again. There's always something new and exciting to discover. But, I love hearing about your experience and you said it perfectly when you said it felt like a movie. New York is so unique that sometimes I tell myself there is no way this place is real haha. But I loved hearing about your experience and you must let me know if you come back to visit. We could get lunch and I could definitely recommend some great places to visit!

ah thank you so much girl! You are the sweetest. When I was younger all I wanted to do was move to LA. I still love my city, but I've always wanted to visit California because for some reason I have this love for a place I've never visited haha. But, I'm an east coat girl and NYC is the best. You must come visit again!
