This week is flying by and I still haven’t decided if that’s a good thing or not since I have so much to do…but on a more positive note, NYFW starts tomorrow and I couldn’t be more excited!
Is it becoming more & more obvious with each post that I’m obsessed with Marissa Webb & Banana Republic…? I scored this graphic tee & dress on a major sale after ringing in the new year. I’ve always tried to pull of the shirtdress trend, but when you have hips and a butt, that silhouette just isn’t made for you. So when I found this Heritage Collection dress on a great sale in one of my favorite colors to wear I was in love and when I tried it on and it actually fit me perfectly I was sold. But, with these frigid winter temps continuing with no end in site, I decided to wear this dress as a blouse/cardigan/coat since I couldn’t wait till spring.
I have to say, wearing this dress as an open blouse has really become a staple wardrobe piece and I love pieces that can be completely restyled & remixed different ways. And honestly it’s become the perfect addition to spruce up a simple graphic tee and I can’t wait to wear it as a dress once it (finally) gets warmer. I know I keep saying this, but honestly Banana Republic is killing it this year! All hail Marissa Webb!
Thank you so much for reading L.A Style, N.Y Smile!

I'm actually loving all the Banana Republic stuff lately. They were actually my first brand I ever recognized. I was seven, we were visiting my aunt in Tennessee. I fell in love. I love how you styled this shirt dress open as a cardigan/ layer. I suffer from the exact opposite of you. I have severe lack of curve. So much so my back and bum pretty much collide with each other. Making every dress that doesn't have a flair to it look like a moo-moo. However, your casual take on the shirt dress makes me hopeful. (; http://www.accordingtokiki123.blogspot.com
Marissa Webb is insanely talented, I love what she's done with Banana Republic. The shirt dress works perfectly as a light coat type layer. And every time I see these shoes, I want them more! Are they comfortable to walk in for extended periods of time?
