A Pom-Pom Story

I’ve started every post from Vietnam like this, but…

This is probably one of my favorite posts from my trip. Towards the end of my trip, we had a lazy day where nothing was on the itinerary, it was super hot and humid out and the family was just staying in. I decided to take advantage of the down time by taking some pics for the blog near our house. It seriously blew my mind how photogenic our backyard and the front of the house was.

These photos were taken at the front of our house and I knew I wanted it as my backdrop from the moment we arrived. I have such a weakness for colorful walls and the fact that this one was right outside our door was meant to be. Every morning when I woke up and walked out of my room, I would see the sun shining on this wall and it just made me feel super calm and happy.

Now, on to today’s outfit details.

This was one of my favorite looks that I styled because it has somewhat of a theme. Between the drop earrings, the pom pom detail on the one shoulder dress, the pom detail on the bag and the fringe detail on the sandals, I loved that every aspect of the look had some type of pom/pom/fringe detail. This dress was a last minute buy for me because I was on the fence about it, even though the price point is amazing. I’m talking under $50 amazing.

But, the moment I got it in, I was so happy I did. The details on this dress are amazing. I couldn’t stop staring at all the pom-poms and embroidery because I thought it was super pretty. This is my first time trying the one shoulder trend and although I still love an off the shoulder more, it was fun to switch it up.

The week ahead

I stayed in for most of the weekend, but from what I’ve heard on Instagram, spring has apparently sprung. The week ahead looks beautiful so I’m hoping it really does stay pretty warm and sunny. I’ve caught the shopping bug so I picked up a few pieces that I can’t wait to share.

Work wise, we are expecting fall samples this week so it’s going to be hectic in the closet. I’ll be on my feet and running around a ton, but at least I have my podcasts to keep me company!

I’m attending a L’Oréal dinner tonight with one of my closest friends, Dana from Pink Champagne Problems. I’m such an introvert and incredibly socially awkward, but Dana has been dragging (I used that word with love) to a few events here and there since I typically turn everything down and go hide in my shell. We’ve known each other since college, so she knows how I can be and has always inspired me to step out of my comfort zone. So I’ve been loving not only catching up with her after work, but also getting to know and meeting different brands. I’m super excited about tonight. since I love anything that has to do with the makeup industry.
