ROW BOATING ON A CENTRAL PARK GONDOLA

Happy Monday lovelies! You may have noticed a bit of radio silence over here at Live Laugh Linda last week. Surprisingly enough, it wasn’t because I was busy with work or life. I just simply needed a break, needed to step back and relax and refuel my creativity. A little blog break every now and then is good for the soul and never hurt anybody ya know?!
Today’s post is a bit of a photo overload, so I apologize for that, but this probably has to be my favorite post that I’ve featured on my site. For a few different reasons… For starters, it’s hysterical for me to look at these photos and think about the backstory and what we had to do to get the shot.
For starters, I am terrified of water!! No seriously, I am the biggest chicken because I don’t know how to swim and have this fear of ya know, drowning. So for most of these photos, I’m actually fighting to hide my terror and just smile. Secondly, there were three of us on the Central Park gondola, my mom (photographer), my boyfriend (rower) and myself. Well to get these shots, we had to do a bit of moving around and let me tell you, when our Central Park gondola started rocking from all the shifting, I’m pretty sure I started screaming and tried to reach the rocks and climb out. Just picture that for a minute and I guarantee you will have a good ole Monday morning laugh. What’s even funnier to me is that in most of these photos my boyfriend is actually on the floor of the Central Park gondola hiding behind me (lol lol lol) because he was the only one who could successfully row the boat and because that was the only way we could shift without shaking the Central Park gondola too much.
But, as much as I’m recapping the hot mess experiences, it was actually one of the funnest things I’ve done and I’m dying to go back. It’s surprisingly an inexpensive thing to do in NYC and we had so many good laughs and moments during that hour and the park was stunning from our Central Park gondola.
I really wanted to embrace the scenery and wanted to create this ladylike vibe so I pulled out my favorite shirtdress, which I wore in orange here, for a day of fun in Central Park. I threw on my boater hat because helloooo, I’m on a boat! And my favorite heel silhouette to finish off the look, which by the way I want one of every color of this version.
