So Basic :: Stripes & Camo

Remember when being basic was an insult and now it’s pretty much a way of life? So today we’re getting so basic and rocking the stripes & camo mix.

Long Weekend

Today is my last work day for the week! Woohoo!! I mentioned in a previous post that my mom and I are currently dog-sitting my boyfriend’s chihuahua so we’ve been trying to take some time off so he doesn’t have to be home alone. I know, I’m crazy, but I’m just so in love with him! Anyways, after work I’ll be attending an event with my favorite gal, Dana from Pink Champagne Problems. Guys, we literally work like 15 blocks from each other yet rarely see one another and always act like we’ve been separated for a year when we do see each other.

As for the rest of my long weekend, I’m planning to shoot some looks for the blog, work on the blog, relax and soak up this summer weather. Tomorrow, however, I’ll be having a tiny itty bitty procedure(?) done. You may or may not have noticed, but I have a beauty mark on the right side of my nose. I refuse to call it a mole cause that sounds gross! Anyways, I’ve had it all my life and people always think it’s a nose ring. I’ve finally decided to get it removed. So many people have been surprised and/or not wanted me to get it removed, but I’m ready to see this baby leave. Hopefully it won’t hurt! But I’ll report back with an update!

Let’s Talk Outfit Details

In my opinion, a striped & camo look is as basic as you get. There’s nothing groundbreaking about it and I know this. But, I can’t deny I’m kind of living for this combo guys!! I love stripes. Like, you could take the ugliest item and make it striped and I’ll probably buy into it. And I’ve been obsessing over this camo jacket and looking for any excuse to wear it. So this is pretty much my current dream combination. Something about it screams summer to me and it’s nice having a go-to look that mixes prints to make it a little more interesting. Plus it’s so easy to recreate and you can do so with pieces you already have in your closet. And in different variations as well, like maybe a striped shirt and camo jacket with jeans to switch it up!
