A Spring Essential :: The Striped Dress

If I could sum up my time in Vietnam in a photo, it would definitely be this set.

A breezy dress. Statement earrings. Great scenery. And of course, my favorite little detail, a fresh coconut in hand.

Seriously though, I always had a coconut in hand. About 75% of my Instagram photos from Vietnam include me and a coconut. And since my family loves me, they kept the coconuts fully stocked. I’m talking a massive pile in the backyard, on hand and ready to be chopped open every time I needed a little refresher.

But, back to the point. Let’s talk outfit details.

Stripes on a swing dress? Plus, by my favorite brand? I mean, you might as well have slapped my name on this dress because I feel as if it was made for me. Alone, this dress is super simple, which I loved, but I also wanted to spice it up in some way. One of my favorite, go-to ways to accessorize a dress is by tying a shirt around the waist, especially a chambray one.

I styled a similar look last spring, except with a long sleeve shift dress and sneakers. What can I say? When I love something, I really embrace it. I also added a pair of espadrilles for comfort on a day of exploring and some statement earrings since I really loved embracing a bolder earring look on vacation.

The week ahead.

Not much going on this week, although it is busy work wise. We’re starting to shoot the fall collection, which I can’t believe since it’s barely spring! I’ve also started going back to the gym, trying to get that summer bod back. I mean I only went twice last week, but that counts for something, doesn’t it?

I love this dress and just this whole look! You know it’ll be good for me when it’s 90 degrees and I’m waiting for the subway;) Can’t wait to hear more about how your shoot is going….and then we can talk about how much we hate the gym!
