Winter Work Wardrobe :: What I Actually Wear To Work

Happy Monday!

Thank goodness for three day weekends, because as you’re reading this, I’m probably still in bed…

Saturday I was pretty productive, Sunday I was a couch potato and today, we shall see.

This weekend, Eddie and I finally finished You and omg I am shook!! I am still thinking about the ending because I am so shocked. It’s still haunting me. We also watched the Taylor Swift concert on Netflix which reminded me how much I love her and a few stand up comedy specials. Overall, it was a pretty nice balance between productive and relaxing.

Today, we are focusing on winter work wardrobe. I did a poll on Instagram stories to see if you guys wanted to see what I actually wear to work or if  you wanted to see styled outfits. And the poll was pretty unanimous in that you wanted to see what I actually wear to work. A lot of what I wear on the blog, I also wear in my everyday life. So please don’t think what you see here is not real. I’m not buying and returning outfits!

But, the big difference is that I just try to dress it up more, by wearing heels or wearing more accessories or a nice bag or throwing on a nicer coat. Whereas in my everyday life, I keep it super simple and casual. Most of the time, I’m running around at work, I’m getting into just about everything and my days are pretty long so I don’t want to wear a super dressed up outfit where I’m going to feel uncomfortable. Plus, my dress code is pretty laid back so it gives me a lot of room. So today, I wanted to get real with you guys, electrical wires exposed and all and share what I actually wear to work.

WINTER WORK WARDROBE:

MONDAY

Shirt. Pants. Shoes.

When Monday rolls around, I’m hopefully relaxed from the weekend so I’ll try to put in a little effort. My current favorite look is a white oxford shirt and black high waist jeans. It’s classic and casual and what I’m most comfortable in so consider this my “dressed up look.”

In the fall/winter, I seriously only wear two pairs of shoes. My black leather vans which are my favorite and I am literally always wearing them. I think this is my second pair. And my black chelsea boots. I haven’t worn them much this year because they’re getting old and not as comfortable anymore and I haven’t gotten around to getting a new pair.

TUESDAY

Sweater is from last year. Similar Here. Denim. Neck scarf is from Henri Bendel’s (RIP!). Love this one. Shoes.

Depending on how my Monday went, my style is either going to go uphill or downhill from there. Last week wasn’t that bad for me so I like to consider this uphill.

My go-to jeans and a slightly over-sized navy sweater that I picked up last year, that is one of those pieces that you can just throw on and go. To add a little pop, I threw on this silk neck scarf. I got into neck scarves/bandanas last year and I really like the way they transform an outfit.

WEDNESDAY

Tee. Denim. Cardigan is super old, similar here. First Necklace. Second Necklace. Shoes.

Same jeans from yesterday. A Disney striped tee. An old cardigan. And my everyday Vans. It’s definitely hump day.

I’m definitely a jeans & tee kind of gal so I like keeping a handful of cardigans on rotation, obviously for warmth, but also to add a little more interest to my casual look.

THURSDAY

Sweater. Pants. First Necklace. Second Necklace. Shoes.

By Thursday, I’m honestly reaching for anything in sight just to get me out the door.

I put an H&M order in last October with a few sweaters and honestly I’ve just been rotating them most of this fall/winter. It’s funny because I love color, but during the work week, I like staying neutral and especially wearing all black. So this sweater is definitely my favorite because it gives me that all black I crave, but with a pop of color.

FRIDAY

Sweater is sooo old. Love this one. Leggings. First Necklace. Second Necklace. Sneakers are old, love these.

It’s Friday and while my spirits are high, my style is definitely downhill. My go-to Friday look is a pair of leggings and either my super old “Downtown” sweater or my Levi’s sweater. I don’t always switch up my Vans, but occasionally I’ll feel like adding a pop of color so I’ll throw on these fun sneakers.

And there’s a week of my actually winter work wardrobe! I told ya I keep it super casual. If it’s easy and comfortable and I can throw it on quickly before I run out the door, then it’s for me.

If this isn’t your cup of tea and you like making an effort for work or have a dress code, I’ll be doing a week of styled winter work outfits next week. I just wanted to pull back the curtain a little and show you guys what I actually look like throughout the week.

Thank you so much for stopping by and reading. Have a great week!
